After 14 years of experience, China (Qinghai) International Carpet Exhibition has gradually developed into one of the most influential carpet exhibitions in the world and Qinghai has already been on the way to become the center of Tibetan Carpets in the world as well. Above all, the 2017 China (Qinghai) International Carpet Exhibition became the platform of hand knotted carpets. It became the ideal springboard to the fast growing markets and it offers us good opportunities to access in the Chinese market as a new destination for Nepalese carpets. It thus provided a unique survey of the entire sector and an excellent opportunity to find the right products for the business. The Exhibition has been regarded as a meeting place for the top decision makers from different countries of the world and an information platform to understand and adapt the current needs of visitors and exhibitors. There is a demand in Qinghai mostly for Nepalese Jodi carpets as well as carpets that reflect the Muslim traditions being Muslim population with approximately 45 per cent of total population in the Province. Since this exhibition focused on the Carpet Culture and made preparation for Green Carpet world, Nepalese carpet exporters should maintain the carpet culture and pay attention to making environment friendly carpets to expand and sustain in the Chinese markets as well. Nepal Government should also play an important role to increase Nepal’s participation in this exhibition in the years to come.
